Day 7 – Can you ditch any industry memberships?
Some business leaders are members of multiple professional organisations and institutes. Membership can be expensive, and the benefits you get in return aren’t always clear. Are yours worth the money? It’s a great idea to check you have memberships of the relevant governing and professional bodies, then decide which ones are of genuine benefit to you and the business, to marketing, and to your bottom line. If one or more of them are more like ego trips than solid requirements that help boost your business, let them go.
The same goes for industry magazine subscriptions. Which, if any, do you really need? Can you manage with a lower-cost digital subscription rather than an actual printed and mailed magazine? Can you do without them altogether?
